The Minnesota Ground Water Association Foundation (MGWAF) was formed by the Minnesota Ground Water Association (MGWA) to assist the MGWA in its mission to educate the general public regarding ground water resources. The MGWAF administers the funds set aside by the MGWA Board for education activities as wells as generating additional funds and exploring funding opportunities.
The MGWAF has provided many scholarships, mostly to university groups for field trips, to assist in the education of future ground water professionals. Funds donated by the MGWA membership have also been used to provide assistance to the University of Minnesota Hydrogeology Field Camp, the Children's Water Festival, the National Ground Water Education Foundation, the Metro Area Ground Water Alliance, and the Minnesota Water Line.
By far our most visible project is the groundwater exhibit which includes the well that MGWAF funded in the Big Back Yard of the Science Museum of Minnesota. Stop in sometime to see it!
