Jan D. Falteisek Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Jan Falteisek is a hydrogeologist supervisor with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. She is the technical supervisor for ground water and pollution sensitivity mapping efforts for County Geologic Atlases and Regional Hydrogeologic Assessments conducted jointly with the Minnesota Geological Survey. Projects nearing completion are hydrologic studies in Wabasha and Pope counties and a regional study in western Minnesota. Other County Geologic Atlases underway include Crow Wing, Todd, Carlton and McLeod counties. Before joining the DNR in 1990, she worked at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency on Superfund clean up projects for nearly six years. Prior to joining the MPCA she worked with the State of Missouri coal strip mine enforcement program. Other work has included comprehensive lake ecology and management in Minnesota and instream flow problems in Missouri. She has an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Southwest State University in Marshall and a Master's degree in geology from the University of Missouri. She is a licensed Professional Geologist in Minnesota.
