Biographical sketch of Marios Sophocleous Marios Sophocleous is a Senior Scientist with the Kansas Geological Survey, The University of Kansas, and Adjunct Professor of Geology at the same University. He received his B.S. degree in Geology and Natural Sciences from the University of Athens, Greece, his M.S. degree in Water Resources from the University of Kansas, and his Ph.D. degree in Hydrogeology from the University of Alberta, Canada. He is Editor of the Journal of Hydrology, Associate Editor for the Hydrogeology Journal, and also serves in the Editorial Boards of Computers & Geosciences and Natural Resources Research. He was the 1997 recipient of the Best Practice Paper Award by the Irrigation and Drainage Engineering Division of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
