John Woodside Follows Jim Walsh as Hydrologist Supervisor at MDH

John Woodside is grateful to take on the role of Hydrologist Supervisor within the Source Water Protection (SWP) unit at the Minnesota Department of Health. He succeeds the esteemed Jim Walsh, who has retired. Since 2014, John has been a part of the SWP team, where he focused primarily on the delineation of Drinking Water Supply Management Areas (DWSMAs) in central and northeastern Minnesota, contributing to the successful implementation of numerous Wellhead Protection Plans. In his new role, John oversees a dedicated team of hydrologists working on Wellhead Protection Plans across the state. Outside of work, you can often find him packrafting local rivers, cycling around the region, or camping and hiking at one of Minnesota’s many outstanding State Parks.
