Abstract Submission Form

Please submit abstract by March 13.

It’s TIME to talk about groundwater brings together scientists, water professionals, regulators, and decision-makers to explore the time dimension of groundwater.  Many resource managers desire to improve groundwater, but how long must we wait to see an improvement if we make a change? How do we keep the public engaged while we wait? This conference dives into all things groundwater age, including methods, results, and what groundwater age reveals about recharge, vulnerability, contamination risk, and trends in water quality and availability. From fundamental concepts and emerging analytical techniques to real-world case studies, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how groundwater age shapes water quality and quantity across diverse aquifer systems.

MGWA is seeking abstracts for the following presentation formats:

Note: you can select multiple presentation types for one abstract, but if you desire to present on more than one topic, complete a separate entry for each abstract.

  • 25-minute oral presentations focused on groundwater age. Topics can include, but are not limited to age-dating methods and approaches (field and/or modeling), uses and limitations of age tracers (including tritium), development of new age tracers and methods, case studies that include a dimension of groundwater age or travel time, communicating about groundwater age, or how groundwater age is useful, or could be useful, in policy development and resource management decisions.
  • Poster presentations on any groundwater-related topic. Poster presenters are also encouraged to give lighting talks to highlight their posters to a captive audience. Student presenters will be given priority for poster presentation and lightning talks, but all are welcome to submit abstracts for any presentation format.
  • Lightning talks on any groundwater-related topic. Lightning talks are 5-minute presentations (or less) of 1-2 slides given to the entire audience from the podium. Lightning talks can be done independently, or in combination with posters.  Student presenters will be given priority for poster presentation and lightning talks, but all are welcome to submit abstracts for any presentation format.
